When you press the accelerator you are opening the throtle plate and introducing more air flow which in turn creates more vacuum. This will allow more fuel to be "pulled" from the carbeurator bowl. More gas means faster rpms. If the engine is running well at idle then the fuel/air mixture is at an operating ratio, but when you accelerate it dies means that it is running out of fuel. Make sure there are no restrictions in the fuel lines or filter. Make sure the hi-speed mixture adjustment isn't closed. Lightly turn it all the way in and then 1 1/2 turns out to start with, later adjustments may be necessary. If none of that works then take the carb apart again and blow it out with compressed air. One more thing! Before doing all that change the plug because I've seen a plug cause this before. It is rare but for three dollars you can eliminate that possibility and process of elimination is the key to good diagnosis.
