what is wrong with my hotpoint washer dryer?

My hotpoint washer dryer WD51A is only tumble drying on cold and does not dry the clothes what is wrong with it and can we fix it ourselves
Rhona Horsburgh, April 2008
My tumble dryer is working but after 5 mins it will stop completely and on my time window comes up as f09. I have to turn off my dryer by mains leave for about 10mins and then restart. Then after 5 mins of drying again the same thing happens. My dryer is a Aqualtis hotpoint B class model number AQCF852BU. Do you know what could be wrong.

hotpoint washer dryer WD51A

1)washer dryers have heating element in them ,much similar to large kettle element,(or type which is like a little heater) these do tend to stop working, dependant on age of the machine this would stop the heating n drying of your clothes

2)there is a little switch (or themister (basically) 2 little heat switches with two wires cumming out of each ,,these definatly do go faulty

realistically .usually its the thermal swithces that do stop working, these are cheep to relace, but dependant on your model of machine,if it is the dryer element(or heater)this can be expensive

if u know some one who has delt with washing machines
may be better to have word with them
