No seal needed for the replacement of hub, as it is a sealed hub. The seal included with the hub is for the transmission side of the CV shaft. I am assuming they include it in case you damage the seal pulling the hub assembly off, sometimes they can become "fused" to the end of the shaft, and hard to remove without pulling on the shaft.
