How can I fix my potterton Prima F Boiler?

I have a Potterton Prima F 80, which is failing to spark when the system starts up. I`ve checked all the obvious, broken leads no power to spark ignition, etc. I assume its something to do with either the PCB or that the spark ignition unit has failed. Does anyone know of anything specifically to check for this type of problem, or what needs to be changed to solve the problem.

Thanks Ian.

It may well be the PCB but of course its may be other things as well.

I dont think its a good idea to give detailed advice on touching gas related parts so I would say that if you dont want to risk wasting about £100 on a new PCB then it may be better to get a competent CORGI engineer to diagnose the fault for you.

Hi Ian,

Usually when you get no spark, the problem lies before the igniton......so assuming, the pump is running, and the fan is running, I would check the asp is making (and check for that signal at the board) if it hasnt got it, try cleaning the venturi, checking the fleible pipe leading to the asp are in good condition, the flue is unblocked (inside and out) the remove one of the flexi pipe and VERY GENTLY blow/suck to see if the aps is working.......
