i have a n reg 1996 iveco daily there is a oil breather pipe that hangs out underneath the engine it is losing oil really bad does anybody have any idea what is causing this ??? as the one side of my van is now covered in oil and i am losing about 2 litres a day

My 1983 Iveco Daily Camper suddenly started to smoke like an idiot until I just could reach a nissan dealer where the motor gave up.

I had lost 4 litres of Carter oil during one our of time. 2.5 litres was still left in the carter.

The membrane of the fuel-pump had become defective as a result of which carter oil was pumped together with diesel oil.

A new fuelpump solved the problem.

Now carter oil consumption is very good again and can hardly been measured
