How do I fix the starter on my Hayter Harrier petrol-driven lawnmower? I've checked and cleaned the engine, checked the choke but I am unable to get a spark from the spark plug. Age of lawnmower is 18 years.
At 18 years of age, your Briggs motor will have contact breaker points behind the flywheel. You'll have to pop the flywheel off to get at them, and the faces must be bright and clean and the gap set to 15 thou.
