briggs & stratton sp 470 will not start?

my mower has been stood over the winter a have come to start it and it will not start there is petrol and oil in it and i have put a new spark plug in but no joy

If you are not getting any petrol from the red push button. Take off the air filter on the top and add a little petrol into the "cup". Put the filter back on and try again.

You may have to do this a couple of times.

If the petrol has been in it all winter, you should empty it out and re-fill it with fresh petrol - petrol goes all sludgy after a while and makes mowers difficult to start.
Also check the spark plug is clean and set correctly (0.76mm or 0.030 inches)
