Peugeot 206 LX X reg indicators not working...!!?

Please can someone help....my indicator when switched left tends to flick back up into centre however carries on indicating left....when switched right it indicators right but then when it flicks back into the centre begins to indicate left again. Please can someone help....someone looked at it before pulled everything out with no luck of anything changing but once the plastic covering at the bottom was put back it worked again for a few months but now has started happening again. Does anyone have a long term solution to this??

Hi Kelly this is a very common problem on all 206 models. No need to replace the switch What you need to do is remove the housing around the steering wheel, light and wiper lever.
Remove the two screws and the electrical connector on the block at the end of the lever,Then open the block and clean the steel tracks (They are shorted with metal filings from the steel pin that connects them). Re-assemble and you are good to go,Good luck

Aye - a new column switch, Kelly. Got a bit wear on its plastic, it has.
