repair to sigma shredder?

I have a sigma crosscut shredder model DS400 which no longer starts or stops automatically on inserting paper, it has to be manually switched on and off. The shredding is fine. Can anyone tell me where I can get spares for this, or even who could repair it for me, it's about two years old and the suppliers (Makro) do not seem to be any help,

Sigma DS155.
Stopped shredding in the "Auto" position but worked in reverse thus exonerating the motor. Eventually discovered that shining a torch on the paper sensor got it to work. Eventually found a bad joint in the lead to the I-r diode of the sensor - sorted !

Hi Gerald,

I work in the industry and have extreme difficulty obtaining parts for these machines, as they are made in the far east and there is little or no service information. it sounds as though the paper detect sensors are dirty, you may be able to clean them with a brush/blower brush, remember to unplug the shredder first.

also make sure you keep the cutting heads well oiled to prolong life.

At least you can still use it manually.

hope that helps.

David.
