How can I fix my AEG Favorit 86050 VI?

The leak prevention system has triggered and the pump continues to run when the machine is empty and the on/off button is off. The only way to stop the pump is to turn it off at the mains. There are no obvious leaks anywhere. Could it be a sticking float valve somewhere? If so where do I look and can it be repaired or is a new component required?

Hi!
I've got the sale problem as you but can't find which cover i have to remove. Are you speaking about the cover behind thé filters?

Thx!

disconnect from mains, remove lower front or back cover (held in place by 2 star type screws. soak up water in bottom of machine uusing sponge or kitchen roll. Thjis lowers the float mechanism and resets the valve. Problem solved!

Though I have an AEG Favorit 8081, I had a similar problem and put in a question here. The answer on several similar problems was "to drain the water completely to reset the high-water-alarm. "Also in my case the pump kept running and there was a humming sound which appeared to be the alarm. I drained the machine by carefully laying it on the side and wipe away the water that came out. When I put the machine back up, there was no sound, no pumping and all was ok.
