i have a vauxhall corsa i am having difficulty engaging first and second gears can anyone say why this may be

The gear linkage is worn.Common problem with Corsa.It is not a major problem and can easily be replaced by mechanic or diy. The part will cost £40-£50 plus fitting and can be done in about half hour.
