BT Synergy 600 Cordless Phones LCD fault?

I have two BT Synergy 600 Cordless phones, the display on one started to 'lose segments' - parts of the letters\numbers etc. And over a few weeks got worse until it was completely blank. Now the second handset has started to get the same problem. I opened it up and checked the connections around the display, but theres no obvious corrosion, and pressing on the display connections etc whilst powered on makes no difference to it. So guess I'll have to buy another two?

Yeah, same problem. Took phone apart to see that the display ribbon connector was rubbing against the speaker, which I think caused a few tracks to break, hence a few segments not displayed. On further dismantling, the ribbon statred to come away from the display, so totally lost connection to display. Will try to buy second hand set and hope it doesnt have same problem.
