Dyson model DC01?

Dyson vacuum - works intermittently - it appears that the mains cable has become loose. How do you get at the connection at the press button switch?

remove the dust canister, look in the area that the canister came from, ( close to the switch position) you will see a torq screw, looks like this (*) remove screw gives access to the switch and spade connections
TIP
cable breaks where the cable enters the grommet due to the continuous bending action invest in some female spade connections the same size as being used. chop the flex where it enters the grommet (you will only lose about 4" of cable remake the connection using your spade connections and reassemble
