I have an Electrolux RM 4270 caravan fridge that doesn't get cold. The 240v heat element has been replaced and I've tried turning it upside down for 24 hours but it still doesn't get cold. It starts to get cold when first turned on but an hour later the coldness has gone. The exhaust at the back lets out hot air. Anyone got any ideas?

Hi I need a gas knob replacement knob for a caravan electrolux fridge,and possibly a electric as well. the model no. as far as I can see on the plate is RM44a. it is an older van and I am haviving trouble finding these knobs.I guess a lot of these fridges have interchangeable parts.it is in a 76 model viscount van. my RM4270 caravan fridge wont work on mains. I've changed the element and thermostat. Theres power there but the fridge just dosen't work. it fine on Gas. any suggestions would be appreciated.

cooling unit needs replacing

The RM4270 fridge in my caravan has stopped working on the mains setting. It still works on the gas and 12v. settings. Is it an easy job to replace the element once the fridge is out of its housing.

There's not a lot left to check other than the refridgerant. Are there any tell tale signs of leakage i.e. a white powdery deposit?. If the refridgerant is down in quantity/pressure it won't cycle properly.
Chat up your local landlord and find out which mobile refridgeration engineer services his coolers- he might be able to help you out with the right inducement.
