renault megane scenic 1004 abs module fault?

i have a megane scenic 2004 1.4dci which has no communication from the abs module when going through computer diagnostics, does anyone know what possible causes or weak links where power could be lost to this module - i have checked the fuses - (i believe to be the only ones for it). If its not power loss to it what elso aught i be looking for?

with this fault on im getting check steering, check abs and others whick also stope my speedo working so i am looking for a quick fix if possible

Thanks

Just look on youtube at the dozens of people who have just changed the brake pads or discs and get this fault ,you cant get to the unit to bleed it ,to get it out you wouol have to drop the engine /tranmission unit ,on bloke had a twingo with just 30.000 miles on it it cost a £1000 + to supply & fit the new modual at the Renault dealers only for the fault to return 2 weeks later ,to date its cost him £1850 to try to fix this French piece of crap .
My Megane 2 has the same problem after fitting new front pads and taking the discs off , all sensors have been cleaned brakes bled twice on the pedal and once with my auto bleed no air comes out ,fuse relay boxes never had water ingress because i cleaned 7 modified the bulkhead drains ,the fluid is cleaner than a cats arse ,am going to try to hot wire the modual if it dont work the cars junk .
It was a one owner car in great condition spent money on mew suspension brakes ect but at the end of the day there is no point in wasting anymore money it will be junk !
Megane 2 dci owner with just 70.000 on the clock ,no more Crap French cars for me !

Its a Renault just junk it they are to expensive to repair ,because they are designed that way to jack up the repair bills !

Thanks Mark,

I have checked the fuses both under bonnet and in the glove box but all seem ok. Strangely last nite (whilst the wife was driving not me so she has explained this to me) the doors locked and the speedo came after driving for about 2 mile and stayed on for the rest of her 5 mile trip. When i tried it after she arrived home the fault come straight back.

I will check these pins but it looks awfully tight to get to the plug with the box being fitted so far back and behind the engine - is theirt a nack to getting to this abs box like dropping the top engine mounting etc?

I can live with the abs fault but its the speedo i am missing and acessories as when this fault is on the speedo goes off and the fan blowers, the lighter socket also goes off so i cant even use my satnav for speed indication for long before it too goes flat.

If i find the fault in within the abs pump and I have feeds into it but nothing out of pin 28, dont suppose it is possible to link between pins 2 or 3 and 28 to allow all the accessories to come on or is this likely to cause more problems?

have you checked the fuses in the upc unit in the engine bay two 25 amp fuses and a 50 amp fuse under the upc unit , also check the upc has no water ingress, if all the fuses are ok , then you need to check if you have feeds and earths at the abs computer, connector on tracks 1and 4 are the earths ,on tracks 2 and 3 are the feeds ,and on track 28 is the after ignition feed, by the way this is for abs system that is fitted with esp as well as abs, and to check these feeds and earths correctly you need to carry out volt drop test on each track you are checking ,and if all checks are ok , you either have a diagnostic line wiring fault, or the abs/esp unit is at fault all depends on if you diagnose it correctly .
