How can I fix the randon "bleep" in my G3 accenta+ keypad?

My keypad has started to bleep randomly, not just @ different periods of the day/night but different length of times/ ie over 5 minutes one hour etc. The back -up battery is only 2 years old as is the system. I have done all the tests and the system is working OK. The light on the mains panel is very faint. But the power light on the control panel is OK. I have no instructions as to how to replace the battery or what type. I am loathe to fiddle with the keypad panel in case the alarm goes off.
Hope someone can help.

luckily my alarm is under contract and i have just had a new key pad that didn't stop the bleeping but the problem was fixed when the engineer changed the alarm box outside. he recons a signal was being sent from a fault in the box outside to the keypad. don't know why and how but that fixed my problem. it was nothing to do with a problem on the keypad.

i seem to be having the same problem with my accenta g3, i was told to
programe 9999730 reset reset
but it did not work,
it bleeps every 5 mins.
it is the service warning.. you to get it serviced!!!!, but that means a fee for £40 just for looking at it. if you find out the right code anyone please let me know...

have you managed to fix your random bleeping as mine has started doing it yesterday and it has done it whist i have been stood looking at it so i know it is definately the key pad that is making the noise.

Mains smoke detectors beep as well if the backup battery is running low. Also, how are the smoke detectors wired to the mains (usually via the upstairs lights) is this switched on

(Whats your address so I can send the bill - only kidding)

Mr Handy Andy, May 2008
No offence taken don't worry. I thought it was the smoke alarm too initially but they are mains as well.

Then in that case, don't take this the wrong way, do you have battery operated smoke detectors?

Many, many times I've heard the same story to arrive at the house concerned to walk in the door, start to 'play' with the alarm to then find nothing, hear the noise myself and straight away point at the offending smoke detector.
The bill arriving through the letterbox a few days later is not appreciated, especially if this happened on a Bank Holiday.

Please post back and let me know

The beeps just stop on their own

David, May 2008
How do you turn off the beeps or do they stop on their own?
