Whinning noise in engine saxo vtr w reg?

When im driving a long, usually more than ten miles, i pull my foot off the accelerator and i have a loud whinning noise until I re-apply my foot. Sometimes I have to speed up for it to dissapear. Ive took it to the garage 3 times and the cant find it. They originally said it was a gatter.

I had a similar noise to the one described on my VTR... After having a new gearbox, new clutch, new wheel bearings and driveshafts the noise did go...the garage and i believe it was clutch related though. My VTR is a piece of s**t though...luckily i had 3months warrenty from the dealer i purchased it from and he forked out the £3k. :)

I can't answer, but mine is doing the same thing except generally it happens when I go above 60/70 mph and it doesn't matter what I do with clutch, breaks etc it's only putting my foot back on the accelerator that makes a difference.

Am beginning to worry a bit about it - thought it might be a belt or something slipping but noise is pretty loud. First garage couldn't find anything so more trips I think!
