2000 (W) vauxhall vectra central locking problems?

just today the central has packed up on my 2000 vectra, none of the doors or boot lock using the central locking, using the remote or not, there is a faint click when i press the remote but no locking

all sorted now all it was was the battary in the remote key phew not expensive £2.50 from the local moter factors

John - did you manage to get this resolved? I too have a W reg verctra which is doing the exact same thing. I have tried the suggestions given in this post without any luck and not sure how to sort this. If you managed to sort this out I would love to know how?! Cheers

If it's the same as 1997 job try putting your key in ignition and turn it to the first mark, press the 'open' button on the key and it should reprogram itself (it will operate the locks)

You could try resetting the system by removing the fuse that feed the central locking. I know that this is one of the usual cures on a Ford ( which thae main dealer will not tell you about + charge you £80 plus VAT for doing so !) If you can`t find the fuse, then remove the battery lead but MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE THE RADIO CODE before doing so.
