hi the electric arial does not have fluid to operate it the radio controls the arial ,when you turn the radio on the arial is controled by the radio via earth or feed ,i cant remember , and to get to the connector on the arial , is very hard , but you need to get to the connector to daignose if the arial is at fault or if its the wiring or the radio, the arial has 3 wires going to it with the ignition on they should be a feed and a earth and then the other is the feed or a earth coming from the radio when its turned on, also has it got a phone kit fitted with all the wiring and control unit this could cause afault as well, if so just disconnect it all put the wiring back to its standed set up and then try the radio and see what happens hope that helps .
