How can I renew or repair the supporting strings of an old sun lounger?

The strings have broken on my sun lounger and there is no way they can be threaded as they have plastic holders and the thread does not go through. can I buy a new threading set?

Buy some 5 mm diameter shock cord from B&Q etc and make new elasticated cords. Join the ends with a reef knot to make loops about 3/4 as long as the gap between the fabric.
