Vehicle model : Renault MEGANE SCENIC VVT Privilege VVv 1.6
I had my timing belt changes at a garage and a week later my car overheated and there was no water in it they tell me they did not take any thing off the car radiator would this be true because my water pump is leaking because car as been running with out water it was just service before I had timing belt change and the radiator did not leek or lose water at all

the timing belt and all the associated parts should be changed together,any thing less is a cowboy job!! i.e new belt new idler,new tensioner,new waterpump!!

If they just replaced the timing belt then no nothing they have done could of coursed The water pump to leak. The water pump does run off the timing belt so they should of had a look whilst the belt was off to check for leaks. But if there was no sign of a leak then it's just bad luck.

If they new there was a leaking water pump when they carried out the cambelt change , they should have told you so while they was doing the cambelt as they could have said ,look we have taken you cambelt of and we have noticed that the water pump is leaking , do you wont us to fit one for you ,then the choice was up to you ,also was it a renault dealer who carried out the repair , also who did the service they should have noticed the coolant level as that has to be checked on the service ,it looks like your car was not looked after at all , unless the fault just occured over the past few days ,.
