How to fix brother KH 270?

I can plain knit but when I change to KC my carriage jams when knitting from left to right but works when knitting from right to left any ideas? please! I bought this secondhand so should have seen it working.

Try spraying the underside of the carriage on the moving parts with super lube. Then work all the carriage buttons, especially the part buttons.

Make sure the fingers are all working okay underneath the carriage, they should all spring back into position.
