How can I fix my Beko D 2731 FW Dishwasher?

Water is not coming into the machine. I have scoured sites and found notes about door switches and floats. But having partially dismantled the thing there is no sign of either. Certianly not where the texts suggest they should be. i am wondering if this is a different mechanism ? Any help is greatly appreciated

Solved one more DE2542FS! Clogged tube at the bottom came off from its place and leaked into bottom tray and activated flood mechanism. Tube clean, tray empty, dishwasher works! :D Thanks for guesses!

Beko DWD 5411

Just the same. Plenty of towels, tip back to 45 degrees, retry and it works again!
Brownie points all round!! Many Thanks

Beko DE 2542 FW...
Same problem..tilted ...fixed.....kind off...still leaking water underneath.
Removed baseplate to reveal disconnected (approx) 10" tube that was all gunked up from fat etc...washed through, Reconected problem solved no more leaks.

Hi there

Thanks so much - just fixed my Beko DWD5414S dishwasher - it had started leaking at the bottom and was stuck on a cycle. When we turned it off and on again, the start/stop button was permanently on and it wasn't filling - was just stuck.

Turned it off at the wall, hoiked it out and tipped it 45 degrees forward and back and now it's washing merrily away. Chuffed to bits. :-) Grab some big bath towels before you tip though, to mop up the excess water that will come out of the bottom.

I read these answers 35 mins ago , just done the tilting backwards on my dwd 5411 . It's now washing away . Brilliant

MRLS, January 2016
just done mine by tilting , worked a dream

Eleven years after the original answer and the advice is still valid, same problem ,pump running all the time, no water in machine. Tipped as suggested, result soggy feet ( should have moved quicker ), kitchen under water, there was rather a lot of it and dishwasher now performs as advertised with the drain pump only running when draining machine. Thankyou for the advice, must have saved a lot of people engineers fees over the years!

Nic, March 2015
Guys, if your machine keeps pumping out and tilting it clears water from the baseplate/flood switch and it then works again, you need to check that the machine is LEVEL, or slightly tilted back. If it's tilted forwards at all, that will cause water to leak from the door onto the baseplate and then the flood switch puts it into pump out mode. This can only be stopped by removing the water from the baseplate by tilting the machine. Also, clean all of the door seals, using a bit of neat dishwaher cleaner liquid on a cloth - but keep it off your hands. Keep these seals clean and free from and scale.

Just followed previous advice after my machine stopped working. Tipped it , a bit of water on the kitchen floor and woohoo....dishwasher working just in time for Christmas....thank you....saved me a call out charge....etc....etc.....

Skint mum, December 2014
I can't believe tipping it worked, but it did!

seems the excess water stuck in the machine from the blocked drainage pipe in the kitchen meant that the anti-flood mechanism was tripped. releasing the water un-tripped the mechanism and now my dishes are clean!

Ravid, November 2014
tipping it seems to be the answer. our dishwasher was stuck on a continuous cycle after emptying. dragged it out tipped it 45 degrees and although some water drained out - hey presto seems to have fixed it.

sarah hall, October 2014
thanks a lot tilting the machine to 45 degrees works a treat. use a dust pan and brush to clean up excess water. pull the machine all the way out so you can tip the appliance first. check you aren't putting a strain onto the mains cable water supply and waste.

john day, October 2014
Thanks everyone! tipped it back, flooded the kitchen, and it's now working.

Peter, August 2014
My dishwasher starts as normal but the cycle never ends and doesn't appear to be much water getting into the dishwasher.
Any ideas anyone?

mm att, July 2014
Wow, tipping it actually works! My machine was stuck on pump cycle. Thanks peeps!

JacLD, March 2014
We had the same problem,no water coming in, switched off at mains, tilting the machine backwards to let out water, working right as rain.

Debbie, March 2014

colin perkins, February 2014

nadine, November 2013
dishwasher DE 2542 F stuck at end of cycle. did as advised tilted at 45deg and water came out. switched back on and working again thanks.. don't know if running empty with descaler block when cycle got stuck overwhelmed the machine ?????

kev wilson, November 2013
It really works. Tilted machine and water started to fill again. Great tip.

Rob, September 2013
Came in the kitchen to find a small pool of water next to the dish washer and the dishwasher was hot and the pump was still running. No mater what i did the machine would not stop trying to empty. There was no water in the bottom of the machine as i had wiped it clean. so tried to tipped it forward it to 45 degrees. Loads of water came out of the bottom, I wasn't prepared for the amount of water.... Heard what sounded like a plastic ball drop. Wiped up the water. Turned it back on and started to work again. So cleaned all the seals as they were very dirty.

Thank you for your answer it worked a treat.

Works a treat!, July 2013
Hi guys I had the same problem with my beko dwd5411s dishwasher read all ur comments and thought it couldn't be true so I tried it and hay presto it's running like new but slipped a disk lifting dishwaser 45 degrees lol ;) thanks guys saved me a fortune.....

Tony Anderson, March 2013
happy happy happy..... tilted in back _ no flooding but it has been redundant for 2 weeks and bingo.... wahoo.

Nicky, January 2013
beko 2542f, well did not unload the water and seem to stick on the cycle, i manually wiggled the hose in to a bucket to release all the water, no luck, tipped it on its side, no luck, turned the water off on the main tap, checked the water pipe, put it back on, turned water back and hey presto its now filling, i promise to look after it from now on and not take it for granted lol, now i need to mop the floor....

andrea, July 2011
Hi, my beko dishwasher doesn't seem to be washing anything in the bottom shelf. It does still wash the cups and glasses on the top though. I've tried emptying out the filter and have checked that the lower arm is able to spin but no luck. Any ideas?

eleanor, April 2011
my beco dishwasher will not go passed programme 3

j drake, April 2011
DaySaver! Thx a lot :-)

Witlof, March 2011
Thankyou so much for this neat bit of advice. I had a brand new Beko installed with my new kitchen. The plumber forgot to take out the cap in the drainage pipe thus flooding the dishwasher. Managed to correct it myself, but then it wouldn't fill up, until now!

Kippy, March 2011
mine was to the same but it was the overflow float on mine it had burned out going to pick the part up now it cost me 10 pound bargain hopefully it will work

lynette, February 2011
I have a Beko DW 4310 W & it was stuck on a continuos drain but wouldn't drain anything. Tried tipping it & BAM! IT WORKED! Thank you so much!!! :D

Tiffany, February 2011
Best DIY advice ever - unscrew dishwasher from kitchen units, put down some towels, tilt machine, slot it back into its orginal state then fill with all the piled up plates lol

soupy, December 2010

C.Murr, April 2010
Same problem with my BEKO model no. DW5410S.

Tipping to 45 degress has worked a treat and saved us repair / replacement bill. Thanks to everyone for sharing this info.

Graham, LONDON, December 2009
This tip worked. Can't believe it! Thanks.

Nick, November 2009
hi mine stopped working yesterday was heartbroken the thought of hand washing pots was not a nice thought, we had had a water proplem that morning but thought nothing of it. THought i was going to call some one out read this and thought what the hell give it a go, tipping up at 45 degree watched the water flood my kitchen floor. switched it on and hey presto the dishwasher sprang to life thanks for the advice.

debbie, July 2009
I tried the same didn't work so I shook it, kicked it, swore at it and threatened to unplug it's sister in the garage (beko washing machine). Then I flipped it on it's side undid the bottom and saw there was what looked like a water intake reservoir/pump that was full of poop. So I gave that a good hiding to loosen the crap and now it's on cycle as I write and seems to be running OK. Top tip though don't buy a BEKO!

Pat, February 2009
thanks for the tip tonight i tipped the machine backwards water came out on the floor! remember the towels? and hey presto turned on the machine to 3/4 wash and it started working.
Saved the cost of repair big thanks for your comments

dishy, February 2009
This is great stuff, we have had the same.

The dishwasher was not filling with water, so we tipped it 45 degrees and lots of water ran out.

It still wouldn't fill so i checked all the door seals and there was one slightly out, cleaned it and refitted it. Now the washing machine fills, but will not drain. It gets stuck in the drain process. which makes me think thats how the leak cut off was tripped.

Rob, May 2008
Thanks for the tipping back advice, my dishwasher working again. Sounded like it was emptying and emptying and not filling, and dial not moving.

My washing macine went bang last week, so nearly crying when dishwasher wouldn't work either

sally, February 2008
hi i have a beko d 3422 fs it will not drain .the programme i pick will run as normal then when it comes to drain it just stays stuck in that place.

Wow, this worked like a charm. Thanks a bunch!

Sanja, August 2007
Beko D3422F. Fault - Not filling with water.
The pressure pipe will be full with fatty deposits & will need to be cleaned.
Remove the left hand side panel & bottom panel, this will give you access to the pipe. Remove the pipe & clean out the fatty deposits. If there is any other pipes that are blocked remove them & clean in the same way, remember which pipe goes where. When you connect evetything back up & switch the dishwasher back on it should be working ok.

Kevin Ryan, May 2007
Recently had a similar problem with my D3422F. Was going spare having checked everything I could think of. Read the advice above, tried tipping the unit back 45 degrees and guess what? Flooded the floor.............but Hey Presto, machine working fine again!

Thanks very much guys, you saved me a bundle.

Mike, March 2006
Thanks! I had the same problem. Pump stuck on (or it sounded like it anyway), wouldn't go into any cycle - Beko again.
I tipped it backwards to 45 degrees, with a towel on the floor, and it fixed it!!
Thanks!!!

Emma Wykes, December 2005
Same problem - the little blighter had been out of action for a week. It just made a labouring noise whichever position the selection knob was in - but no water going in. I even checked that the hose wasn't blocked. Read this solution and tried it. Hooray - back in action. Thanks a million!

Jenny Leman, April 2005
Hi Michael, don't know if you found the problem with your dishwasher but the exact same thing happened to my Beko dishwasher only a few days ago. This was repaired by the Beko engineer who explained that there is a chamber at the bottom of the dishwasher which houses a float switch which detects flooding - i.e. if the chamber fills with water, the float switch trips and hey presto no water. Now, you need to find out why the chamber has filled. It could be that you have a leak - in which case the switch is doing its job correctly, however, the chamber can also fill if the door has not sealed properly or was held slight open by an object in the washer. So, you will need to empty the water out of the chamber in order to release the switch. You may find that after a week or so, sufficient water may have evapourated from the chamber to let your machine work again, but you will still need to empty the water out of the chamber. The engineer did this by simply tipping the machine to approximately 45 degree angle and the water ran out onto the kitchen floor - nice, but solved the problem. NO problems since. I'm not saying this is the solution to your problem but it might be worth looking into. Hope this helps.
