How do I fix my temperature gauge?

The temperature gauge on my 1994 Ford Mondeo GLX is not working? The needle does not rise at all even when the car has been running for a while and is obviously quite hot. Any suggestions as to how to fix it?

I assume the car is petrol. If you get heat through the air vents try the sensor UNDERNEATH the top rad hose connection on the thermostat housing to the right of the cylinder head as you look at the engine.Ford part is 6193368. Might be worthwile changing the stat as well while you are there. They are prone to seizing open.
