My Lexmark X3430 printer says "cover open" but it's not!?

I changed my ink, and ever since I haven't been able to print because the print thinks the cover is open apparently. It's not, and I don't know what to do about it. I've unplugged it, opened and closed the top a million times, and I don't see anything wrong, help!!

This error is because the cover when shut operates a switch it might be a mechanical switch or an electronic switch, if the cover is fully shut down when holding it down and the error does not go away then try and find the part that detects closer most probably towards the front, look for the switch, the electronic type could be magnetic ( magnets are normally stuck on and have been known to fall off)

Oh dear. Exactly the same thing happened to me, all I can say is it seems like my printer isn't closing properly like a catch has snapped. The top part is really loose but I'm not sure if it's always been like this! It's really bugging me though, I can't print a thing and I've tried turning it off and closing it a million times to. Happened when I tried to change my ink too.

Sorry I couldn't be of help but your not the only one with this problem.
