i had the same problem. my micanic sprayed wd40 with a strew and cleaned the ignition hole, he said that it is a common fault on nissan primara, the key grinded the inside of the ignition teeth with dust particales when the key is rotated to start the engine it didnt turn all of the ignition chambers hence engine didnt start.nissan primaras have other problems such as buzzing noise when unlocking the driver door, rattling under the engine. i live near a bus stop in the Uk the bus lane footpath are slightly higher, with the primara the shape of the bumper makes it harder to get out ot my drive way as the curb path is raised i have to be well away of the curb or bumper hits the rased curb.

It sounds like a fuse may have gone, there is a small panel on the drivers side just above your right knee, open this panel and there is a fuse referred to as "ignition" i think that's right, check this because the engine will attempt to start but won't enagage, turned out to be just this small blade fuse on mines. Replaced it and car started fine.

Let me know if this sorts!

Thanks

Okay, I'd suggest finding where hubby took his feed from. Maybe its from the alarm feed which could affect the immobiliser. Try removing all wiring for the sterio and start car. If this works, either re route the wiring or consult an auto sparky. Hope this helps.
