How can I fix reverse lights on Citroen Saxo?

Replaced the bulbs but still no joy. Any tips? Thanks.

I found the reverse light switch in the engine bay under the bonnet. It is on the right hand side and on top of the gearbox. It is directly under the air duct. The plug is white plastic and just clips off.

If you need to remove the reverse light switch then just un screw it. It is possible to test it whilst its fitted. Use a multimeter on resistance setting and test across the 2 terminals on the switch, you should get an open circuit. Put the gear in reverse and you should get a closed circuit. This can be done using a test lamp also. If the switch opens & closes then it is Ok, if not the switch is faulty and needs changing. A new switch can be had for under a tenner!

Where is the reverse switch located on a Saxo? Can you get at it to check without going under the car?

It could simply be that the socket that attatches to the reverse switch has been loose and disconnected or that the actual switch is faulty. This is not too technical to test but in the realms of the home mechanic. Any doubts and i'm sure your local garage will advise the same.

if you feel that this problem has occured after it had been to the garage then there is nothing to stop you asking them to check this as you feel its connected to the work they have done and to give you a report about it free of charge.
this is what i would do because even a garage can cause erros.
