This is an old model - circa 1999 but has not had heavy use.
Have stripped down and cleaned as much as possible (it is an integral unit and impossible for me to get out)
When the machine is switched on it hums and I know the element comes on because I can smell it!
There is no water flow.
Have followed quite a few suggestions on this site to no avail.
There are no blockages that I can detect and everything is in place.
Any thoughts?

if it hums and element comes on you have to have a blockage in the pressure system.you will only be able to see this fault by removing it and taking the side panels off
