How do I change the wheel bearings on a 1998 Chevy Malibu?
Firewalled, July 2004
On the front it sould be all one assembly that has the wheel speed sensor and bearing assemly all in one housing. You have to use a special tool to push the axle shaft back out of the bearing. you will have to remove the break caliper and bridge assembly before you can push the axel back. On the rear it is also a sealed assembly so all you do is remove the break assembly, but the is no axel to push back. There should only be three bolts holding it in, they are very stuborn because of corrosion that is between the bearing assembly and whole it slides into.

they are probably pressed in I suggest taking it to a service center so they can press in the new bearings
