Homelite chain saw won't idle?

This saw is hard to start, I've cleaned the fuel filter, replaced the fuel lines, choke the saw pull till exhausted, let sit for a while ,place choke at half, pul an it might start, I think the adjustment are out of whack, What is the procedure for adjustment, screw all the way in on fuel, air mixture an back out one an a half turn on each or what? i've tried several different adjustments an none seem to work. thank you

i got a homelite chainsaw and it was doing the same... not starting after pulling the pull cord until i was blue in the face. i then found out that for it to start you have to put your hand on the throttle slightly, just to give it a few revs. doing this is starts 1st time everytime!

my homelite just died and wouldnt start i finally got it started and it wouldnt idle so i pulled the plug and it was black as black can get. went and bought a plug (4 bux at your local hardware store) put it in and started fine just wouldnt idle so i looked at the idle set screw and it wasnt even touching the the throttle so i adjusted it in just a little bit started it and did some fine adjustment then and now it works better then the day i bought it

The Homelite chain saw has the same carburetor as a weedeater brand weedeater. you need to replace the diafram in the carburetor. Then turn both of the set screws all the way in. Then turn them out half a turn each see if that doesn't fix your problem.
