The barrel is loose and not spinning does it just need another belt

It may do if belt has gone and there was no grinding noise before hand which is indicative of bearing wear on the drum shaft.

Whilst machine is open might also be worth checking motor brushes too for wear.

Remember machines are dangerous to repair if you aren't suitably experienced so consider if you need to call in the engineer.
