its light so your electric power steering is working,however there are two modes on that steering unit as i'm sure your aware.in my experience the control units give trouble on them.try finding a second hand steering control unit as they are quite expensive new and ask a professional to check it out and repair it for you also.its not a major job but its not for a novice.hope it helps
