Hotpoint BE82 Ceramic Induction Hob - Sounds like a rave is going on?

Hi

As soon as I turn on the power supply to my hob (Hotpoint BE82 Ceramic Induction) it starts rapidly beeping and all the lights flash. The beeps/lights gradually slow down and then stop after about 30mins after which sometimes the hob works and sometimes it doesn't. The heat indicate light for one of the rings is also constantly on even though the ring has not been used and is not hot.

Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks

I have one of these with similar problems (I haven't left it on, in the flashing state) for more than a few minutes though. I am purchasing a service manual, so I hope I will have the answer soon. I suspect the control panel, as swapping the power boards over makes no difference. I have seen a replacement control board for about £130.

My BE82 is doing a similar thing I am trying to fix but it looks like a control issue spares are £200 plus

Our BE82 hob has just developed the same symptons. I am thinking about replacing it. Did you manage to fix yours? And if so what was the fix?
