auto gears vauxhall vectra?

vauxhall vectra auto gearbox no low speed r.p.m. present
when driving automatic gearbox comes up on display and then i have to drive using shift lever. some days it does it others it doesnt. i can stop car for a while and it is ok

the amber warning light comes up and the wrong gear is selected, i can use gear shift ok, if i turn the engine on and off a couple of times it seems to help???

hello im a gearbox rebuilder,can you explain the problem more and i,ll try to help.
Is it slipping when you pull away,or will it pull away ok in 1st on the gear lever then change up ok when you move the gear lever?
