How do I fit my Flymo belt?

I have a Flymo Roller Compact 400 lawn mower and the belt has snapped. I have purchased a new belt and I am wanting to know how to fit it. Can anyone help

Thank.

There are four of the torque screws - but there is a hidden 5th....well it is hidden if you are like me and dont clean the mower as often as you probably should - the 5th one is outside of the unit in the groove in which the blade spins...this holds the northern most tip of the inside assembly - you need to scrape the dried layer of grass to find it. The whole unit then falls out - you can then undo "slightly" (dont take them out - theres no point) the extra four inside the unit which holds the motor to allow the give needed to put the belt on. It might be a good idea to grab some help at this point - with one person putting force on the motor to stretch the belt to its fullest while the other tightens the screws back up. This will avoid any slippage of the belt. Good luck in finding the 5th screw. I promise you its there.

remove the grass box, turn the unit upside down, making sure you can tilt it to put a hand into the area vacated by the grass box.
remove the blade and fan.
now you will see 4 shinny tork head (star) screws, there are a further four in recessed holes in the casing, support the unit by putting your hand into the grass box area before removing the last screws. now you will be able to see both pulley wheels, place the belt on the motor pulley and on one side of the blade drive pulley, rotate the pulley to 'pull' the belt on to it - reverse the previous directions - job done

Hi Mark,

We have a new belt for a Compact Roller 340 but struggle to remove the plastic body, allowing access on to the two pulleys.

I've undone as many screws as possible but feel that the body shells are snapped together around the edges. Unpicking this seems a real task and possibly inappropriate.

Did you ever get a response or find an answer yourself?
Tips appreciated.

Kim.
