Simpson maxidry 362 trips off after 10 minute use?

I have a simpson maxidry 362, 3.5kg capacity, wall mounted type dryer. It overheats after 10 minutes or so and can not be reset or started back again until it cools down. Before it could operate for an hour or so and sometimes used to trip on overheat but now within 10-15 minutes it overheats. I have cleaned the filter. What else could be wrong?

It is approx 5 years old, do you think it is wiser to buy a new dryer instead of spending money on its repair.

Thank you in advance

I've got the same problem, I havent come up with a tested solution yet but I'm pretty sure if you take the belt housing off the back of the machine (2 x phillips screws) you will find a silicone belt for the fan that will have come off the pulley. Put it back on and more than likely you'll have it sorted.

I made the mistake of taking the entire back of the machine off and now have to try to work out a way to get the drive belt for the barrel back on. Bit fiddly.

Hope that helps, or that you've got it sorted in the meantime.
