craftsman lt 4000 lawn tracktor-won`t start !?

I have a craftsman lt 4000 lawn tractor model 917.255581 12.5 hp IC Gold Briggs & Strat motor that I care for and well maintained......Won`t start. worked fine last week, got on,turn the key and nothing, new battery, new selenoid, inline fuse good, tried by- passing seat switch still nothing. I bench tested the starter, thats fine! used a volt meter to see if power is going to the stater, it does. I give up!! Can someone Please share your thoughts on this matter PLEASE? Thanks

The in-line fuse is an auto-type, located close to the starter solenoid, under the gas tank on the main chassis. I think it is rated 30 amp., clored yellow, and is a plug in type.
Won't start, might be the magneto. Disconnect the black insulated wire that leaves the bottom of the coil out thru the heat shield. That connects all the interlocks to short out the coil. Try to start. If nothing, suspect the magneto is bad. Mine was defective. Engine wouldn't start. Replaced the magneto, workes like new. Reconnect black wire, test all interlocks for functionality.
Magnetos aren't cheap, though.
