car accident advice needed?

I HAVE A VAUXHALL ASTRA 2001 Y REG AND I HAVE NOTICE UP RIGHT HANDSIDE OF THE BOOT LID MASSIVE WELDING AND FLOOR PANEL OF BOOT HAS LOT OF WELDING SHOWING THIS CAR HAS HAD A MAJOR ACCIDENT IN THE PAST. MY QUESTION IS I DID A ACCIDENT REPORT ON THIS AND SHOWED NOTHING AT ALL ABOUT ACCIDENTS WHY?AS IN MY HEART I RECKON THIS HAS HAD MAJOR JOB DONE BUT IT WAS MOT IN FEB SURELY MOT TEST WOULD OF BROUGHT SOMETHING UP IF THE CAR WASN,T SAFE?I CAN NOT AFFORD A RAC INSEPCTION SPECIALLY AT £139

my advise would be is to look at the car vin numbers.
look in the manual and it will show where they are located.
sometimes you get a riped car. that is when two of the same cars have been in a accident and all they do is weld the two together.
hopefully this is not the case as it is very unsafe to drive
hope it helps and hope it is not the case
