Unscrew the plug, but leave it attached to the plug lead. Now, hold the plug so that the "bar" across the bottom is in contact with the engine casing, and pull the start rope (some means of clamping the cutter is a help here..). Look for a spark - if you don't get a spark, try a new plug. If that doesn't work, it's probably the coil or the HT lead. Now if only I could find out where to get these bits, I could fix mine, which has the same problem...
