hotpoint wt540

I was washing this afternoon.... Heard a load POP and then noticed some smoke coming from machine,,, wash enhance, rinse and mini load buttons flashing as well as the on off button....

I looked in the manual.... so I took the tray off the front, cleaning the filter - still happens.... took pump out, made sure nothing blocked, all looked ok - but when i turn machine on, about 20 seconds in, stops program and flashes again.

Any ideas... Machine is just over 13 months.
