I have pressed the reset button held on the on , when i have the reset pressed in the light goes green as soon as it out it the on switch on more than 10 sec its dead
any answers please

ive tried everything for mine to be turned on but it juss wont liven up haha but i am charging it through my laptop so do you think its something to do with that :)

Well, my one died overnight it seems. Was used in the car on Friday, plugged in and fully charged.

Left in the glovebox overnight, go to use on Saturday morning, and I'm devastated at no life. Missus and I fiddled with it and were annoyed at the idea of having to replace it.

Found the reset button and tried, still nothing.

Read this page, 15secs reset button and 5secs power button and hooray!

15 secs on reset and 5 on power whilst charging through pc worked a treat for me after holding the reset for only 10 secs for the last half hour!!! all it needed was a little more time ;)

My Tomtom Go seemed to die on me and would not restart. Decided to charge the unit .After trying reset/on/off for various durations with no success, I stopped charging the unit, pressed reset for a count of 1 - 17, then pressed the On button for a count of 1 - 6. The unit started up, and is now charging, and has just spoken!!

I had tried reset several times with no luck.

This tip (15 sec reset adn 5 sec power) worked perfect and I am back in business.

Thanks for this info - it resolved my problem after days of trying reset, power on, charging, reset, power on for 10 seconds while charging, etc.

I was not aware that the reset should be held for some time!

I've had a GO 700 since 2005 and over that time I've upgraded the firmware, software, maps and flash screens, but this week couldn't power on, and after 3 days I was seriously contemplating a GO 740 Live as a replacement.

There is still life in the GO 700 yet, and it's streets ahead (!) of the factory installed Navteq SatNav in my Jaguar, so I shall continue using it and upgrading the maps and software until it bites the dust :-)

Hold the reset button for 15 seconds. Then push the On button and hold it for 5 seconds. That should do the trick!
