hi there i have a renault 19 auto hatch 1993 the gear box is giving me troubles it is slipping in & out of gear & reverse will only work when the car has been going for a while it is like it is not building up enough presure or something do the gear boxes have bands on them i have been told by a couple of people that the bands might need reajusting but i am un sore as i have not worked on these cars before

Hi Craig, without specialist tools and knowledge any autobox repair is best left to an autobox repair place! None of the haynes type manuals even give the basics of how to repair the autobox, probably best get a service exchange box
