system restore after virus removal??

Hi,

Recently my desktop was infected with a virus worm.win32.netbooster. I have windows xp home, I managed to get rid of it running antivirus tool; however, since then, there is a change in my start up menu with ALL PROGRAMS missing, and when I click on My computer, I cant see my C drive. I cant access my control panel or the option "RUN" from startup menu..can you please help me?? Also, on the task bar besides the clock there is a message VIRUS ALERT! all the time :(

when you tried to get rid of virus you may have made it run and work through you system
if you can get on the internet down load AVG
its free just google free avg run virus checker if it finds any thing and your not sure you can send it to AVG for analysis
then down load cc cleaner this will get rid of all rubbish on your HD
then go into microsoft help and support and ask how you do a system restore follow instructions but dont go back too far as this will cause more problems
this may reinstall virus but just rerun AVG and it should be alright
but if you have microsoft reinstall disks that came with your computer it may pay you to completely wipe HD and start from scratch
Good luck
