The power cable that connects into the 2 arms of the hair straightener is loose inside . I am sure i can fix the wiring inside once i get the iron opened. And thats the problem. I did open the side covers, and tried to open the Phillips head screws. but it seems that the screw is the same on both the sides and just keeps rotating. I tried to hold the other side firmly but it still doesnt open.
is there another way to do this?
Any help would be appreciated.

I am having the same problems. I've popped off the hinge covers but I'm thwarted by the rotating screw. Is it just super duped tight? Will brute strength do the trick or do I need to bring out my drill?

It does come apart - I just had my wife's apart. But that screw was tight. You have to hold the other side.
