the water and antifreeze backs up in the resavior?
I have a 1999 mazda, miata. the water and the antifreeze is backing up in the resevior, car is not running hot. What could it be? Is it a water pump or is one of my hoses clog?
the water level in your rad is different when cold to when hot
AS WATER HEATS IT EXPANDS GIVING THE IMPRESSION THAT THEIR IS MORE IN THAN BEFORE (or backing up as you call it)
your expansion bottle (Note the name) has a MIN and a MAX mark on it
if temperature gauge does not go past midway position engine OK

Bubbling back in recovery jug is a sign of a bad therm or headgasket .....possibly just low on coolant and needs to be bled
