how do i take apart a mixer tap?

i am trying to replace the washer in one of the taps on my kitchen sink mixer tap. there is a nut(shape) but im not sure it is ment to undo.

Your reply 'undo in normal way' doesn't really help! What is the 'normal way'??

obvisouly turn supply, pull/twist off head undo in normal way.
warning- if your tap is the ceramic washer type take the cartridge toyour local plumbers merchant to match
