immobiliser on v reg renault laguna?

My renault laguna 1.8 alize petrol v reg will not start. The key fob works fine to open doors and lock. However, upon putting key in ignition and turning the key the red flashing light continues to flash without extinguishing.
Is there a way to bypass immobiliser or fix this problem without spending a fortune via main dealer.

i have found a utility on line that will give you a code generated on renault software to override the immobliser and turn it off (if you leave it off you are supposed to tell your insurer ) it only takes about a min to do and sorted the same prob on my laguna software is here www.renaulthelp.110mb.com/app/RenaultImmCode.zip serch for instructions at program your keys or google renault bypass instructions

Hi Ross, there's no way to bypass it as it's part of the engine ECU, and to find the fault you have to connect to a diagnostic code reader, you don't need to go to the dealer as any good autoelectrician should have the kit to read the faults and will be a lot cheaper than the dealership
