my creda europa built in double oven (gas) is not reaching correct temperature in the bottom oven, it is only just warm even when on gas mark 9.The top oven appears to be fine. Any ideas what the problem is.

the 'flame failure device' (usually thermocouple) may be faulty. if so then main gas supply to oven will be permanently shut off.

full gas flow is only allowed when thermocouple current energises small solenoid inside gas valve. otherwise just very low gas flow to let burner run at minimum possible level.

typically F.F.D. is sold as thermocouple and valve together for £25.
