i brought the van, tried to enter the code on back of radio, tried to enter the code ten time with no luck and now the radio is locked .what can i do?

Are you sure the number you are entering is the code? It's not shown on the radio normally. Perhaps you are trying to enter the SERIAL no.

I'm told that leaving the radio powered up for 24hrs. will reset to "code enter" stage, but never had cause to try it!

The correct code can usually be found if you quote the SERIAL no. in another question.
