The signals in my Chevy Malibu work sporadically, how can I fix this?

I have a 2002 Chevy Malibu and the left and right signals only work when they want to work. I was told it could possibly be the spark plugs, it this true? If not, how can I fix my signals?

I had a 2000 Malibu that had the same problem with the turn signals. It turned out to be the Hazard light switch and something wrong with it. It was covered under a recall but as far as I know the recall only covers the 2000-2001 models. I would give a Chevy dealership a call or call Chevrolet or GM and see if the 2002 year is covered too.

Some one is jerking your chain. The spark plugs have nothing at all to do with your lights. It sounds like you may have a bad ground wire in the lights and it is only making ground part of the time. Or you could have a bab wire in the steering colum and when you turn the wheel it breaks contact in the wires. Sometimes it is simple and other times it can be a pain in the--- neck.
